Minulle on moni huomauttanut siitä, että turvautumiseni Tarmoon on läheisriippuvuutta. Onhan se, mutta juuri sen läheisriippuvuuden ansiosta pystyn edes siihen vähään mihin pystyn.

Läheisriippuvuus on tosiaankin muotisana, jonka alle on koottu kaikenlaisia oireita. Puhutaan myös kotivammaisuudesta tuttavallisemmin, mutta ei narsismista.

Narsismi on toinen muotisana, mutta sillä tarkoitetaan aivan eri asiaa kuin läheisriippuvuudella. Kun nykyään puhutaan narsismista niin aikaisemmin käytettiin nimitystä sosiopaatti tai psykopaatti (jotka eivät kuitenkaan tarkoita ihan samaa).

Usein narsistin uhrista löytyy läheisriippuvuuden oireita, samoin erilaiset addiktit (kuten alkoholistit) voivat vetää puoleensa läheisriippuvia ihmisiä, jotka yrittävät pelastaa muiden ihmisten elämää, vaikka heidän pitäisi pelastaa itse itsensä (esimerkiksi ottamalla äkkiä jalat alleen).

Celia, ilmaisin itseäni taas kerran epäselvästi. Ei ollut tarkoitus väittää, että läheisriippuvaisuus on sama asia kuin narsismi. Tarkoitin että media tuottaa näitä muotisanoja, joita kaikki sitten toistelevat ja sovittelevat niitä itseensä ja toisiinsa. Välillä muotitermi on läheisriippuvuus, välillä narsismi, välillä jokin muu.

Taru, riippuvuus toisesta ihmisestä ei vielä ole sitä läheisriippuvaisuutta jota esim. tuossa mainitsemassani kirjassa tarkoitetaan. On normaalia ja hyväksyttävää olla riippuvainen rakastamastaan ihmisestä. Ei siitä tarvitse pyrkiä eroon, se on voimavara. Minäkin olen riippuvainen miehestäni ja jokaisesta ystävästäni. Läheisriippuvaisuus taas on sitä, että olemme niin keskittyneitä tuohon meille tärkeään ihmiseen, että kadotamme itsemme. Että huolehdimme niin paljon jostain toisesta ihmisestä, että hylkäämme sen vuoksi itsemme. On tietenkin myös täysin oikein pitää huolta toisesta ihmisestä, mutta joillakin tämä huolenpito johtaa itsen hylkäämiseen, ja silloin puhutaan läheisriippuvuus nimisestä sairaudesta. Jos se siis nyt on sairaus.

Olet oikeassa, Kirsti, mutta aika moni pitää voimakasta turvautumistani Tarmoon sellaisena riippuvuutena, josta minun pitäisi päästä eroon. Itse en ajattele niin, vaikka tiedostan sen poikkeukselliseksi. (En esim. juuri lainkaan pysty liikkumaan kodin ulkopuolella, jos Tarmo ei ole mukana.) Mutta se ei tosiaan ole sellaista läheisriippuvuutta, jossa omat tarpeeni unohtuisivat, vaan hyvin itsekeskeistä.

On hyvää narsismia ja on hyvää riippuvuutta. On tilanteita, elämänkohtia jolloin tarvitsemme toisellatavoin toista tai toisia. On hetkiä jolloin olemme avuttomia ja on hetkiä jolloin hyvän narsismin ihana aurinko pelastaa päivämme.

Minua ärsyttää näissä 'elämäntapaoppaissa' se seikka, että elettyäni nyt noin viiskytvuotta, en ole nähnyt kenenkään, en edes läheiseni eläneen pelkästään näiden oppikirjojen mukaisesti.

LiisaE, niin tosiaan, tietty määrä narsismiakin on hyväksi. Elämäntapaoppaat pitäisi ehkä ottaa jonkinlaisena runoutena nekin. Niissä voi olla jotain totuutta, mutta sitten mennään harhaan jos ryhdytään ottamaan niiden opetukset liian kirjaimellisesti.

Tietenkin kaikki ihmiset tarvitsevat tai voivat auttaa muita ihmisiä. Siinä ei ole mitään vikaa.

Toisten ihmisten tarvitseminen tai auttaminen voi olla kuitenkin sairalloista. Silloin puhutaan läheisriippuvuudesta. Terveen ja sairalloisen tarvitsevuuden raja on häälyvä, mutta sairalloisen tarvitsevuuden tunnistaa kyllä viimeistään siinä vaiheessa, kun se on _pakonomaista_. Läheisriippuvainen keskittyy muiden ihmisten ongelmiin osaamatta auttaa itseään. Netistäkin löytyy kaiken maailman piirreluetteloita.

Käytän läheisriippuvuus-termiä niin kauan, kun kukaan ei keksi sille parempaa sanaa.

Samoin ei ole mitään vikaa siinä, että on narsistisia piirteitä kohtuullisessa määrin. Ääripäät ovat kuitenkin aina huolestuttavia. Narsistisesti häiriintynyt ei tunne esimerkiksi empatiaa. Läheisriippuvainen taas hukkaa omat tunteensa pyrkiessään samastumaan muihin ihmisiin.
